AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION TRAINING SITE

The Southwest Virginia EMS Council is proud to operate an American Heart Association training site.  Our site is approved approved to teach, process rosters and issue certification cards for the following disciplines:

  • BLS for Healthcare Providers
  • Heartsaver CPR
  • Heartsaver First Aid
  • ACLS
  • PALS

If you are in need of training in First Aid, CPR, ACLS, or PALS, please contact us. Through our network of approved instructors, we are confident that we can help meet all of your training needs whether you are an EMT, nurse, physician, day care worker, teacher, or a concerned citizen.

Our site is constantly accepting new instructors. If you are not currently aligned with an AHA Training Center, or you would like to align with our training site, please contact Gary Whiteaker for more information.

We have a variety of resources available to our aligned instructors including training manikins, instruction materials, and textbooks. Mankins and teaching materials are provided free of charge from our Lending Library (availability based on a first come first served) at no charge. It is recommened should you need equipment to make a reservation 2 weeks prior to your class. For information on equipment avialablity and reservations contact Field Coordinator LeAnn Atwell.
