Job Description Summary: Paramedic Field Supervisor
The Paramedic Field Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operations, including facilitating internal communication between field crews and management, interfacing with outside facilities, facilitating short-term scheduling needs, as well as assisting with equipment and supply maintenance, and other operational support functions as assigned by the Director of Operations. The Paramedic Field Supervisor is also responsible for building and maintaining a positive workplace culture, effectively leading teams, and mentoring/coaching team members. The employee will work a rotating schedule, with three 14-hour shifts from 7am to 9pm per week.

Job Description Summary:
Richardson Ambulance Service is now accepting Driver, EMT- Basic, EMT- Advanced, and Paramedic applications. Richardson Ambulance Service is a private EMS company that provides interfacility transport, E-911 services, standby services, and much more. We have offices in Washington County, Smyth County, Wythe County, and Montgomery County, with our headquarters located in Marion, Virginia. The positions currently open are full and part-time, with options of 12 or 24-hour shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assess each call to determine the best course of action and appropriate protocol.
• Utilize medical equipment and procedures, including but not limited to a defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, intravenous fluids, CPR, and other procedures.
• Provide patient care in accordance with established protocols.
• Lift and move patients as required.
• Communicate with receiving facility to receive medical direction and to provide critical information.
• Communicate with patients to provide information, assure that care is being given, and show compassion.
• Operations of an ambulance within defined policy.
• Maintain all required certifications.
• Keep ambulances clean and stocked to maintain a professional image.
• Document patient care on time and accurately.
• Communicate verbally with patients and significant others in various environments to interview patients, family members, and bystanders to gain information for patient care purposes.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures of Richardson Ambulance Service.
Physical Requirements:
• Good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition, which would not be adversely affected by frequently walking, standing, lifting, carrying, and balancing at times.
• Must be able to lift, drag, and carry different equipment and patients
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Licensing/Certification:
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Some advanced education is preferred.
• Current State Certification; Basic/Advanced/Paramedic License.
• Possess a valid State Driver’s License.
• Current CPR, ACLS, PALS or PEPP, PHTLS
- Driving record in compliance with Richardson Ambulance Service Driving policy.
• Some past work experience, preferably in healthcare desired

Advanced Life Support Emergency Medical Technician (ALS-EMT)-Paramedic (four positions). These positions will be responsible for engaging in the provision of basic and advanced life support pre-hospital care activities for the Department of Emergency Management. Serves as part of the County’s emergency medical services system responding to the scene of medical or trauma emergencies upon dispatch by the County’s 911 center. Works as part of an emergency response team which may include other career or volunteer providers (EMT-Basic or ALS). Assesses patient status and provides the appropriate care within the scope of practice. Acts as an attendant in charge during the transport of patients of all ages to an appropriate medical facility. Prepares and maintains files and records. Maintains equipment and vehicles. Performs work under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Emergency Management Department or designee.
